How to make real tomato sauce for pizzas

To prepare a good pizza you have to start with a good dough and a rich sauce. Today we show you how and with what ingredients you should prepare your tomato sauce so that your pizzas are a success.

You will like it so much that you will want to add the sauce to everything! Pasta, meat … our tomato sauce for pizzas has many more possibilities than you would imagine a priori.

Without further ado, we will tell you what ingredients you need and how you have to make your sauce.

Ingredients

  • 8 tomatoes

We recommend that they are ripe.

  • 5 tablespoons of olive oil

Preferably virgin olive oil.

  • Basil

The cooler the better.

  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Oregano and salt

We add 1 teaspoon of oregano, but it will depend on your taste.

The amount of salt will also depend on your taste. Half a tablespoon should suffice.

Elaboration

  1. The first thing to do is wash and peel the tomatoes. Then we will grate them. If you don’t have a grater, you can chop them very finely with a vegetable knife.
  2. Chop the fresh basil and reserve it
  3. Chop the 2 garlic cloves and reserve them.
  4. Pour the oil into a saucepan with the garlic clove until it reaches temperature.
  5. Add the tomato and fresh basil and cook over medium heat. We are stirring every little time to avoid sticking.
  6. After about 5 minutes, pour the dried oregano and continue stirring the sauce until it reaches a thick consistency.
  7. After 25 more minutes, in which we do not stir every little to avoid the sauce sticking, we remove the saucepan from the heat and wait for it to cool to store it or spread it over our dough.

If you are not going to use your sauce after cooking it, remember to store it in the fridge in an airtight container (preferably glass)!
